Scott Gives Back

For the third year in a row, we're excited to sponsor and participate in Chester county's March for Babies.  This year it is on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at 10:30AM. This year it is at West Goshen Community Park, 1023 Fernhill Road, West Chester, PA 19380.  Join the Scott Team! You are welcome to join us. Come out for some fresh air and register same day.  Or if you have plans, we invite you to join our Team efforts by making a donation to Support our Team.

Scott Honda has teamed up with the Keretzman Family for a fourth year to sponsor a Holiday Toy Drive for patients at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Toy collection is in our Showroom and the deadline is Saturday, December 10th.

Donations will provide comfort for the many children who are spending the holidays in the hospital. A donation wish list has been provided by the Child Life, Education & Creative Arts Therapy Department. All items need to be new and delivered unwrapped. No stuffed animals or toys with fabric, please. For more information, you may visit: Scott Honda - Keretzman Family Toy Drive for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Team Scott is participated in Unite for HER 5k, as a business sponsor, fundraisers, and as a group of runners. We reached our goal and gave over $1,200 to this amazing nonprofit.  Unite for HER supports women in our community (Philadelphia area and surrounding counties). So many of us at Scott Honda and Scott Select have a mother, wife, sister, friend, aunt, neighbor who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. We run and walk for them and with them. "Since women close to me have been diagnosed with and survived breast cancer, I understand the benefits of the services Unite For Her provides local patients. Scott Auto Group is proud to contribute to their efforts," says Duke Scott.

Scott Honda is fundraising for an amazing local charity, Unite for HER during the month of October. We're also sponsoring Harvest, their annual fundraiser dinner. This rustic-chic gathering is a farm-to-table food and wine tasting event at the Phoenixville Foundry with live music and a silent auction. Harvest is a unique celebration of local and sustainable dishes, featuring culinary creations from area top chefs and paired with special offerings from wineries, breweries, and spirit vendors. Harvest is being held on Thursday, October 27, 2016, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Come out for a night of fun, while supporting their worthy cause. Learn more at: UniteforHER.org.

1 in 7 children in our Philadelphia area lives in poverty.  The federal definition of poverty is a family of four living on an annual income below $23,700, which means in Pa, 500,000 children currently live without daily essentials including a warm winter coat.

Scott Honda, Scott Select and Scott Kia of Springfield are proud to be part of another successful coat drive in 2016, organized by Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia. "Driving Away the Cold", a unique non-profit program with the simple mission of giving new coats to underprivileged children who would otherwise not have them.

Just as in years past, coats were given to the Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County, an organization that has been helping the Chester County families that need it most for the past 15 years. We also donated coats to Friends Association for Care & Protection of Children in West Chester, and Darby Township School in Glenolden.

Scott Auto Group is once again taking action for United Way of Chester County as they coordinate their 3rd Annual PB&J Drive. Last year, Team Scott's donation to Chester County Food Bank weighed in at 411 pounds! We collect Peanut (or alternative nut) butter and Jelly. Team Scott invites employees, family, friends and our customers to get involved in this community effort to fill up the food bank during low-supply summer months, a fight against hunger in our own neighborhoods. Bring a peanut butter jar & a jar of jelly to leave in our collection box inside Scott Honda or Scott Select. No glass containers, please.

Lance says thank you Duke Scott & Scott Honda! 50 fully stocked backpacks were delivered to Friends Association for Care & Protection of Children in West Chester just in time to start their year off right! Lance and Duke Scott celebrated their success in photos posted to our Facebook page. Lance says he couldn't have done this without Duke Scott, who made his fundraiser idea even BIGGER and very successful to the benefit of these other children! Together, they surpassed Lance's original goal because of incredible support. Thank goes to EVERY sponsor, including friends, the staff at Scott Honda, Green Street Grille and TD Bank in West Chester. Read this story >

Each November, Scott employees look forward to the tradition of collecting canned goods that provide Thanksgiving meals to families in our community through our partners at Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region.  For each boxed meal the employees fill, Scott Auto Group completes it with a turkey, dairy products and a delicious pumpkin pie. We're always looking for ways to help. This year our goal is to DOUBLE our contribution.  If you would like to donate to our efforts, a collection will be located in our showroom. Learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region and their mission here.

Scott Honda and Scott Select chose the Chester County SPCA for our Community Initiative. Scott Honda and Scott Select will be donating a portion of each car sale to Chester County SPCA all month long!  We'll also be holding an Adoption Event with lots of adoptable pets - so we hope to see you!

We also aim to help the Chester County SPCA celebrate and promote the opening of their Animal Health Clinic, a high-quality low-cost spay and neuter clinic serving Chester and Delaware Counties. Licensed veterinary staff provide compassionate, top quality care for your pet like spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, heartworm and FeLV/FIV tests, and microchips.

Many of us here at the Scott Organization have been personally affected by cancer, and so we are encouraged by the work done at Unite for HER. We're proud to support a local organization through our own marketing efforts.

Scott Honda and Scott Select are proud to be a community partner. Our  Donations will go toward funding local Wellness Events in Chester County for women in our community diagnosed with breast cancer.  These events educate and empower women and restore hope.  Read more about Unite for HER, and perhaps you may choose to participate in an upcoming event or make a personal donation.

Scott Honda is proud to be a sponsor for The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition as it presents the 14th Annual Northern Lights of Life

DBCC's programs reach diverse communities, offering information and services that address concerns about breast cancer and early detection. DBCC helps break down language, cultural and economic barriers and guides uninsured and underinsured women to free or low cost screenings. DBCC provides newly diagnosed women and men with support and guidance through treatment and trains peer mentors to provide one-on-one support.

Scott Honda has a long running dedication to the The Garo Yepremian Foundation, whose mission is to raise funds for brain tumor research. Garo's oldest son Azad is even a member of the Scott Honda team.

Every year Scott Honda and many other generous folks join together to help raise thousands of dollars for brain tumor research.

Scott Honda is a proud sponsor of The 74th Annual Chester County Day House Tour, which is the oldest house tour in the nation.  Experience Chester County's finest examples of original, reclaimed, restored, new and historically significant homes at the same time you will also be supporting Chester County Hospital in its ongoing mission to bring world-class care close to home. The Tour benefits The Women's Auxillary's "Great Expectations" Pledge of $500,000 to furnish the new Mother and Baby Pavilion which opened in May 2014.

We really did adopt a pig... it is just ceramic, eats money and helps young children who are fighting cancer.  So we thought we would join this little pig in his effort to make the life of a child going through an incredibly difficult time, a little easier.

Adopt a Pig  was created to help children and their families cope as they face their greatest challenge, fighting cancer.  Proceeds benefit a variety of support services and coping mechanisms for patients and their families.  Scott Honda has a donation box at our receptionist desk for donations and to learn more about the program.

Scott Honda has been a proud Cell Phones for Soldiers  drop point since 2008. It was created by Brittany & Robbie Bergquist of Norwell MA. After reading a story about a soldier who ran up a huge phone bill calling home from Iraq, these two teenagers decided to help out. They started by opening an account with $21.00 of their own money. They are collecting cash donations and old cell phones. The cell phones are recycled for cash and the proceeds are used to buy prepaid calling cards for our soldiers serving in the Middle East. Their efforts have motivated people and businesses around the country to donate to this worthy cause. Their goal is to provide every US soldier with a way to call home for free.
