For 25 Years Contributing To Our Growth and Success

We give a heartfelt congratulations to Ute Heller on her 25th Anniversary with Scott Honda.

Ute, you are such a valuable member of our organization, and you contribute to the success of our team year after year.  It’s an important milestone, and we’re excited to celebrate your career. Happy anniversary; we appreciate you!

Since joining our team in 1998, Ute has grown right alongside the company. She is a respected colleague to us all, and a leader in her role as Dealership Office Manager.  We took a moment to ask her a few questions about her quarter-of-a-decade tenure here…

What did you want to be when you were younger?

I wanted to be a veterinarian. I love all animals, especially my own! But after visiting a vet clinic, I realized I couldn’t handle seeing so many animals sick or in pain.

How did you get started in the automotive industry?

I first moved to the States for my husband’s work and we traveled back and forth between Oklahoma, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and my home country, never quite settling down long enough to start my career. But once we settled in Pennsylvania, I was hired by an RV dealership to do accounting work and train as a title clerk.

What drew you to Scott Auto Group originally? And how has Scott Auto Group changed since?

I’ll be honest— like many people on the hunt for a new job, I was looking for better pay and benefits. And Scott Auto ticked those boxes for me! But the biggest factor in my decision was the dealership’s reputation as a great place to work. I had heard the company was small, operating like a close-knit family. And that drew me in; being away from home, while my husband started his own business, I wanted that kind of atmosphere and culture in my work environment. The team has remained like a family, it’s just grown in size 🙂

What do you enjoy most about working with Scott Auto Group?

Simply, the people. Mutual respect is important to me. And I’m thankful to work with a team that truly cares about one another’s personal and professional lives.

Who or what are some of your major influences at work?

All of my team members— I can’t pick just one! I’ve learned so much from everyone, be it from my own department or a different location altogether. Just by observing and communicating with my coworkers, I get to see how we each live out our core values day to day. Our differences make working together to achieve a common goal even more special.

What do you think makes our team culture unique?

We want each other to succeed. Our team is focused on growth, both personal and professional. We grow and we adapt. We’re huge advocates for cross-training, myself included. I find it rewarding to teach others how to do my job. And it gives me peace of mind knowing that all bases in the company are covered.

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

Travel more! Even though I’ve done my fair share of traveling, it never feels like it’s enough. Before you know it, you feel like you’ve run out of time because there’s just so much to see and experience!
