“It is our pleasure to congratulate Scott Honda of West Chester on receiving the 2021 Honda Environmental Leadership Award! We appreciate your commitment to the environment.”

American Honda Motor Co., Inc

Our commitment to the environment extends beyond offering fuel-efficient vehicles. At Scott Honda, we are making specific choices for a healthier environmental impact, and we’re proud to have earned the designation as a Honda Green Dealer continuously these last seven years. Our Honda store has achieved verifiable and specific reductions in energy use at our large facility; therefore measurably reducing the environmental impact of our operations.

We achieved this initiative  by following guidelines from American Honda’s Green Dealer Program. Honda’s Green Dealer Consultants help assess over 30 areas for improvement. They help us understand what to do, and how to do it. Plus, they benchmark our operational practices through a scorecard. This scorecard assessment has been our roadmap for meeting energy usage targets and implementing their expert-recommended improvements. All in all, this has allowed us to build on prior year’s successes and measurably continue improvements since joining the efforts in 2015.

We’re thrilled our efforts have earned us an Environmental Leadership Award with an additional badge, the Water Badge, in 2021. The Water Badge is achieved through changes that can cut water consumption by 30-50%. Solutions include modern fixtures, smart irrigation systems and landscapes, alternative water sources, and closed loop systems that recycle water with no wastewater discharge.

About Green Dealer Program

In 2012, Honda launched the Green Dealer Program to help U.S. dealerships reduce carbon emissions throughout their facilities. Since the launch, Honda dealers across the country have cumulatively saved approximately 174,000 tons of CO2e— that’s equivalent to eliminating over 21,000 homes’ energy use just in one year. And that’s not the only impressive “green” statistic; these dealers have saved approximately $34.5 million in energy costs.

As the program grows, the objective remains the same: measurably reducing energy consumption to align with Honda’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. And as more Environmental Leaders emerge in dealers, the closer we stride towards that goal.

We’re proudly reducing our environmental impact, thereby contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future. For more information on the Honda Environmental Leadership Program, visit Green Dealer Honda
