The Dealer of the Year Awards indicate the value car shoppers place on dealers’ adaptability to provide the very best service even when the industry is challenged by inventory shortages and increased car prices.

In the past few years, the automotive industry has changed drastically. What remains, however, is our commitment to our customers. By implementing and maintaining protocols like social distancing, masking, and sanitization, we’ve done well to keep our community safe. Plus, our Honda Brand Consultants have become experts at helping customers find their dream cars virtually! Digital features such as video chat, at-home delivery, and virtual walkarounds have played a huge role in generating positive reviews.

Engaging with Our Valued Guests

Guest feedback means so much to us. Reviews help us understand what we’re doing right, and what we could do better. We’re constantly learning and seeking opportunities for improvement. Engaging with our customers and responding to their reviews is one of our favorite ways to learn! And it seems we’re not the only ones who enjoy it… a shared habit of award-winning dealers is their quick review response rate, with 80% of award-winning dealers responding to customers at double the average response rate.1Additionally, about 75% of winners provide Employee Profile Pages on DealerRater, which allows customers to ask questions and connect with individual team members before ever stepping on the lot.1

DealerRater Award Methodology

The DealerRater Dealer of the Year Awards are presented annually to the top U.S. and Canadian car dealers with 25 or more reviews based on categories such as customer service, quality of work, friendliness, pricing and overall experience, key drivers of repeat and referral business. The scoring algorithm considers the dealership’s average DealerRater star rating as well as the total number of reviews written about the dealership during the 2021 calendar year. Consumer Satisfaction Awards are given to the top 10% of U.S. new-car dealers as well as independent and Canadian dealerships that earn at least 25 reviews and maintain a minimum average review rating of 4.0 out of 5.0 during the 2021 calendar year.
